De Commissie bestaat uit het college van commissarissen uit 27 EU-landen. Samen vormen de 27 leden van het college het politieke leiderschap van de Commissie gedurende een termijn van 5 jaar. Zij worden door de voorzitter belast met specifieke beleidsterreinen.
